1. CHILD BENEFIT
If you have any children under the age of 19 you may be eligible to receive CHILD BENEFIT.
Child Benefit is a benefit paid to people who are bringing up children. It does not depend on how much money you have coming in, or any savings you may have.
You get:
£18.80 each week - for the eldest or only child
£12.55 each week - for each additional child

2. TAX CREDITS
If you live and work in UK you may be entitled for TAX CREDITS.
Tax credits are payments from the government. If you're responsible for any children, you may qualify for Child Tax Credit. If you work, but earn low wages, you may qualify for Working Tax Credit.
Information we need to apply for TAX CREDITS:
1. Name;
2. Address;
3. Date of birth;
4. National Insurance Number (NI Number);
5. Any previous address you had within last 3 years;
6. Your nationality;
7. When arrived in UK - if you are from abroad;
8. Your bank details (bank name, sort code & account number);
9. Income details for last 2007-2008 tax year (from 6 April 2007 to 5 April 2008)
IF YOU WORK FOR EMPLOYER:
- payments from all jobs you had within this tax year (look to your P60 or/and P45)
- details of your current employer (name, address, PAYE Reference Number );
IF YOU ARE SELF-EMPLOYED
- your UTR number ;
- your NET PROFIT amount for last 2007-2008 tax year (from 6 April 2007 to 5 April 2008);
10. CHILDREN'S DETAILS - IF YOU HAVE ANY
- Name;
- Date of birth;
- Child Benefit Number – if you receive Child Benefit

You can get up to £15,000 per year depending upon your income and the number of children you are responsible for.

3. MATERNITY ALLOWANCE
If you pregnant you may be entitled to receive Maternity Allowance.
You get
Standard rate: £117.18 or 90% of your average gross weekly earnings if this is less than £117.18.
If you work for an employer but not entitled to receive Statutory Maternity Pay you will be able to receive MA.
The amount you receive will depend upon your weekly wages from an employer.
If you work as a self-employed you will be entitled to receive MA if you pay Class 2 NI Contributions or you hold small earnings exception certificate.

4. SURE START MATERNITY GRANT
If you pregnant and receive one of the following benefits you are entitled to receive one off payment of £500
- Income Support;
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance;
- Pension Credit;

5. PENSION CREDIT
